The Stories

The Hidden Secret

I’m on a bumpy road and it’s a rough ride. I move knowing that I could get hit at any time; exposed in a way. The frequency of events is increasing – they are coming for me. I’ve been able to handle it thus far but for how long can I hold on…

…he was staying alert, always looking over his shoulder. The thrill was exciting or maybe even seductive though he also shivered at times. This was as a result of the various outcomes that were at play in his mind. At any moment any action could occur, and he tried to stay ready. His reactions were revelations. He was setting himself apart…

They came close but were still far away. How was I doing this? Somewhere at the far end there was a smile but closer I was still afraid. The further we go the closer it gets. I try to let it out but at the first strike it runs back inside. It had just peeped outside but that wasn’t enough. The second strike is now calling out…

The same feelings before the first strike are played again. I hear knocks at the door and they’re getting louder. It’s taken a hold of me and I need to get out. I try to move away from thinking as it prolongs the prison break. I’m still at it…

While I’m still there, they come back again and they are now edging closer. A little more and they might just figure it out. The questions come up but I still don’t budge. The act goes on. Too many were now getting involved and I had to beat them to the punch…

The time had come; I had had enough of its effects. I gathered up enough courage and finally, I LeT it out. I breathed a sigh of relief. That part was over. Its effects were now passed on to the others but they too should recover in due time. This is the power of the hidden secret. I had kept it for quite some time and maybe it would have been better if it wasn’t there in the first place – but then again, it led to this…

Night Shift

The night is here, the light is off. The activities of the night are on. The distant cars, the creeks here and there, the sounds of other creatures – the rats by the way, are having a field day. Lovers of the night have taken over. The darkness sets the mood.
The fruits of peace are ripe. I move along with the flow picking. I am thinking; I think of her, I think of them, I think of it and I also think of me. They are thought influencers; it’s intriguing indeed. It’s night time alright and the emptiness is full…
Everything was so clear. There was calm but no silence. There was him there too. The sounds of the night were soothing and it was quite the adventure for him. His lines of thought were not around…Those were the privileges of the night shift…
Have you experienced the night?

The Movie that is Life

“Picture is up!”… “Action!”… “Cut!” … “Take two”… “aaaand action!” … “Cut-cuut-Cut!” … This is a representation of what goes on in the different scenes of the movie. I’m on scene 22 and counting. Life is the greatest mission…

The action between the two individuals happens and we’re on our way. The signs begin to show and after nine months we’re ready. Just before we arrive, “picture is up!” is called out. The clapperboard is slapped shut; we are here. We set out on the mission immediately. The director takes charge and we’re on play. “Action!” We move and get into the flow and the plot begins to take shape. We continue until we get off script…

“Cut!” We’re stopped before we can go any further. We take some time out to take some words from the director and other cast mates. These words become a point of reference though sometimes the playback speed might be really high and you may end up missing some action…

We go back again and start filming. “Take two!” We act accordingly and the storyline begins to develop. Our character starts being recognizable. We stay on script for quite some time and everything else remains silent. ‘Cut’ happens to be called out again…

We take a look at the dailies this time round so as to try and understand what has been happening. After the break we start from where we left off. We continue playing out the different scenes of the movie; the highs-the lows, the ups and downs, the beautiful and the ugly, the love and the hate… All of these feelings and reactions, they make the movie. We find ourselves in these different locations and the sets there…

Life is a movie. I want those high reviews for my movie. We need to be top of the box office. The act will go on until “it’s a wrap!” is called out…

About being Awake

I had to pause, and slowdown playback. I was recalling past events and I had to go fishing for the lessons. What I was seeing was both scary and amazing. It happened to be what I was made of. They were the challenges of who I was. There was no other way…
It was lonely, at times really lonely to be where he was. Having no one but himself he lived. He lived through the loneliness and it was quite hard at times. The opportunities that lied within were comforting to him. He had to be patient for in patience he was becoming stronger…
I have to keep on and wait for the day when these experiences will be a tale. A tale to tell that will bring inspiration, hope, belief and all sorts of other impacts. This is so that when I leave, I will have left my recorded activities on earth.
Cheers to the New Year that is upon us.
